As parents and teachers we must meet the challenges that confront us daily in a more complicated world. We must assist our children and students in overcoming youth-related problems. Freedom Star Lessons will enhance children’s awareness of the responsibilities of people who live in the United States of America.
Our Mission
The Freedom Star program is dedicated to motivating our youth to civic, academic and moral excellence. It is a voluntary organization designed by professional educators, business leaders, and concerned parents, as a supplement and compliment to school curriculum. They will learn how to be active participants in our country’s present and future, while sharing our country’s past.
Freedom Star Promotes…
- Character development, success skills and citizenship.
- Respect of family, community, nation and reverence for God.
- Literacy and the importance of being informed.
- Civic responsibility and that children are citizens.
- Patriotism and an understanding of the history of the United States.
- Pride in a common national heritage and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
- Activities that involve participation in the democratic system.
- Activities for family involvement in their children’s education.
- Provides suggestions to extend knowledge and experience through reading, writing, listening and speaking.
- Celebration of the Bill of Rights and the basic principles of citizenship: Equality, Liberty, Responsible Participation, Education and Community Involvement.
